Choosing the appropriate skincare products for you should be considered in tandem with your medical treatment. Despite this, new research from the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology has revealed that 40 per cent of consumers do not do this, instead purchasing skincare products based on the recommendations of acquaintances rather than dermatologists.
The study also found that in addition to dermatologists providing their patients’ guidance on treatments, they should also offer advice on skincare to improve their quality of life.
